In 1926, the addition of a second floor and a gymnasium enhanced the original structure. Between 19, a separate Vocational Agriculture Building and Farm Shop were constructed. The initial high school building was erected in 1917, opening its doors in the fall of 1918 with an initial attendance of 57 students. The school serves more than 4,500 students across both campuses, providing comprehensive high school education for over 61,000 residents from various communities, including Gurnee, Beach Park, Gages Lake, Grandwood Park, Grayslake, Lindenhurst, Old Mill Creek, Park City, Third Lake, Wadsworth, Waukegan, Wildwood, and Lake Villa. Over the years, the graduating class size has evolved from around 25 students to over 1000 today. Starting from a single-story building on O'Plaine Road, it has expanded to two campuses approximately 4.5 miles apart. Warren Township High School District 121, established in 1917, has grown and adapted alongside its community. It operates as part of Warren Township High School District 121. Due to the size of its student body, the school is divided between two campuses: the O'Plaine Road Campus serving freshmen and sophomores, and the Almond Road Campus accommodating juniors and seniors.
